This winter, while we received a record breaking 100 inches of snow; I began using my embroidery equipment for my sewing machine. It is a completely new experience. I still have much to learn about the stabilizers and hoops, etc… I used a new software, “Creative DraWINGS”, that translates my Adobe Illustrator drawings into stitches the machine embroider. In March, CBS Sunday Morning featured a segment on quilting in the US. Here is a link to the segment if you missed the show. Go to http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/sunday/main3445.shtml and type in Quilts for Sale in the search box. You will see Ricky, Alex, and Karey, and guess who they showed as the quintessential quilt fabric shopper? I have to say I was proud to represent each and every one of you; digging deep in my pocketbook to do my part for this $4,000,000,000.00 industry! My newest quilt, Lea’s Choice, was awarded Second Place, Appliqué at the 2008 AQS show in Paducah! In addition,it was awarded Excellence in Machine Quilting Award at 2008 Road to California, and Best Machine Quilting, Traditional Quilt, 2007 Pacific International Quilt Festival! Take a closer look and read the whole story in the gallery.
